Diversity at AEP

Our goal is to create an environment that is inclusive, drawing upon the strength of our diverse work force to exceed expectations of our customers, business partners and shareholders. To meet that goal, AEP has adopted a series of diversity initiatives under the theme “Everyone Counts” in an effort to create an environment where all employees feel free to do their best work on behalf of the company.

Our work force diversity initiatives include special diversity education programs for all employees and managers, a dedicated diversity website on our intranet, an employee diversity council and regional committees, and various diversity-related events and activities.

In addition, the company offers a number of work/life policies and programs designed to attract and retain a diverse group of employees. These programs include casual business attire, childcare assistance, financial planning, educational assistance and wellness programs, among others.
