AEP offers a variety of electrical safety resources to help educate students and
adults about electrical safety. Students of all ages will enjoy a visit to The Electric Universe website.
The National Theatre for Children's safety presentations feature AEP spokesbug Louie
the Lightning Bug in a fast-paced performance designed for K-6 grade classes. These
live presentations feature audience participation and take-home materials for students,
and are offered each fall and winter/spring throughout the school year.
Eligible schools in AEP's service territory
are mailed an invitation to host Louie unless the school has hosted the presentation
within the past 12 months. Schools are eligible to receive the program once every
other year. This better enables Louie to visit all elementary schools in our service
area to ensure that all students have the opportunity to learn his important electrical
safety messages.
